The Recovery Village recently surveyed American adults (ages 18 and older) about their past-month use of drugs and alcohol to better understand how the COVID-19 pandemic is currently affecting substance use and mental health. The results indicate that many people could be turning to drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with the impact of the coronavirus.
The full results can be found below. Note: Some questions asked respondents to select each option that applied, so in a few instances, the total percentage will be greater than one hundred.
Use the filters to take a closer look at the results by state or career variables. This information will be updated monthly to show changes in alcohol and drug use as we reopen more segments of the U.S. economy. Check back regularly for updates.
