Inpatient Rehab and Detox in Palmdale, California

Palmdale Drug & Alcohol Rehab, Detox & Treatment Resources

Palmdale is a fast-growing high-desert community in northern Los Angeles County, California. With a population of over 150,000 citizens and a burgeoning local economy that’s mostly reliant on aerospace production and manufacturing, Palmdale continues to attract families and individuals from all walks of life. Its arid desert landscape and scenery make Palmdale a geographically unique place to live, with plenty of enticing outdoor activities for adventure seekers.

As with many communities throughout the United States, Palmdale hasn’t been left unaffected by growing substance abuse issues, including fallout from the opioid epidemic. California faces drug misuse issues on multiple fronts, including drug trafficking challenges for illegal substances like cocaine and heroin, as well as misuse of legal substances, like prescription painkillers and marijuana.

Drug and alcohol addictions are serious issues that have the potential to destroy lives and harm communities. That’s why finding the right treatment for addiction is so essential. Addiction is a disease like any other and requires appropriate treatment, both medically and psychologically. Breaking the stigma around addiction and giving those suffering from addiction issues the opportunity to speak up is a critical part of reversing the bitter effects of the opioid epidemic.

Finding Help in Palmdale, CA

Palmdale, California Alcohol Rehab Centers and Drug Centers

When it comes to drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, there are many options available in the Palmdale area. Before you can start researching appropriate facilities, however, you need to familiarize yourself with the different levels of treatment.

Most facilities offer three different treatment programs for those who are seeking treatment for substance use disorder. The level you need will largely depend on factors like the specific substance you are addicted to, whether or not you need detox and your history with addiction.

Residential Treatment Programs

In a residential treatment program, the patient will stay in the facility 24 hours a day, and he or she will have access to healthcare professionals during that time. A residential treatment program typically lasts somewhere between 30 and 90 days, though there are some programs that are shorter or longer.

Partial Hospitalization Programs

In a partial hospitalization program (PHP), the patient will be in the facility for 6 to 8 hours during the day, and he or she will be permitted to go home in the evenings, assuming he or she has access to a safe and stable environment.

Outpatient Treatment Programs

In an outpatient treatment program, the patient will be at the facility for 10 to 20 hours during the week. This may be every day in the mornings or 2 to 3 days for a longer period, but patients in this program are still able to work.

Recovery Meetings Near Palmdale

While detox and rehab are incredibly important aspects of your recovery, they may not be enough to help you get through the difficulties that may surface once you’re back in your regular environment and routines. That’s where recovery meeting groups come in. From Alcoholics Anonymous to SMART Recovery, you can find a program that’s geared toward community and accountability for moving past your addiction. Recovery groups can provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can work through your challenges and take a hold of sobriety in your own life.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Meetings

Patients require special aftercare and the right moral support after completing their alcohol rehab. Meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous help provide such requirements. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) has been around for almost 80 years. The program is built around 12 steps that allow members to surrender and release themselves from an alcohol addiction. While the program encourages turning to a higher power for this release, the group isn’t associated with any religious denomination, and there’s no pressure for participants to join a religion of any sort.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Meetings

Narcotics Anonymous is a program that’s specifically geared toward individuals who are seeking sobriety after living with a drug addiction. NA is based on the same 12-step program concept of AA, but it’s geared toward those who are breaking free from drug addiction rather than an alcohol addiction. NA isn’t associated with any religious group, and the only requirement for joining a meeting is the desire to stop using drugs. Members, who are done with their drug treatment can find support locally in Palmdale by sharing stories with other people in recovery who understand what they’re going through.

Al-Anon and Nar-Anon Meetings

Watching a loved one struggle with an addiction to alcohol or drugs is hard for any family. Al-Anon and Nar-Anon are two resources that were created as communities to support family members through their loved ones’ recovery journeys. These groups meet regularly and provide a safe space for family members, including parents, spouses and children, of individuals who are struggling with addiction. Throughout the course of an Al-Anon or Nar-Anon program, you’ll go through a 12-step process that’s tailored specifically to loved ones of AA and NA members.
