What Ambetter Members Should Know About Texas
Ambetter plans are HMO-style with a defined network, so an out-of-network rehab is usually not covered at all; that makes confirming in-network status before admission essential, and it is why we list our three Ambetter-contracted centers here. Superior HealthPlan requires prior authorization for residential and inpatient admissions and reviews continued stays regularly. Cost sharing depends on tier: Essential Care plans carry high deductibles that many members have not met by mid-year, Balanced Care sits in the middle, and Secure Care has the lowest out-of-pocket costs. Superior’s STAR Medicaid members are also in-network, under Medicaid authorization rules.
