Marta Nelson, RN, BA

Marta L. Nelson, RN, BA, is the Chief Compliance Officer for The Recovery Village.

Previously the Chief Nursing Officer, Ms. Nelson was responsible for maintaining excellence, quality and safety in patient care and Nursing best practice in all The Recovery Village facilities. Ms. Nelson has over 30 years experience in Nursing and Behavioral Health Care. She has strong medical and surgical nursing skills as well as over 20 years of experience working with substance abuse, eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. She has had the experience of working with all age groups of the patient population, from children to geriatrics.

Prior to joining The Recovery Village, she served as the Compliance and Performance Improvement Director of a large behavioral health facility. In this role, she focused on provision of quality patient centered care in an environment that prioritized safety and security while adhering to ethical and legal standards.

A Summa Cum Laude graduate from Christopher Newport University, in Virginia, Ms. Nelson received her B.A. degree in English. She has a well-rounded background in communication skills. She received her RN from Passavant Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.
