Historically, in most treatment recovery programs, substance use disorders are treated separately from trauma.  In this presentation, I will discuss the reasons it is important to integrate treatment for trauma and substance use disorders.

Objectives:

  1. Understand the brain when it has trauma experiences
  2. Learn about how trauma impacts substance use disorders in treatment
  3. Understand triggers in a different way
  4. Be more equipped to identify behaviors associated with trauma correctly
