The purpose of this presentation is to increase awareness about death by suicide as a community health risk and a risk that clinicians will encounter in their clinical practice and personal life and to provide understanding and tools to address self harm and suicide risk and intervene appropriately. 

Objectives:

  1. Discuss Myths about suicide
  2. Outline suicide warning signs to look out for in screening/assessment of suicide risk
  3. Educate attendees on how to conduct a risk/safety assessment in a crisis situation
  4. Provide attendees with resources for clinicians and clients at risk of death by suicide 

About the Speaker:

Ritu Anand. is the founder of Creative Healing Collective, LLC and has a passion for developing mental health resources for the South Asian community, with a focus on helping young South Asian Women navigate cultural and identity issues and build self-confidence. Ritu has over 15 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector with a background as a clinician, trainer, and supervisor in the fields of community mental health and crisis intervention.
