This training will focus on gaining a deeper understanding of strength-based approaches to facilitating and building resiliency skills in youth. We will explore the 40 Developmental Assets and The Developmental Relationship Framework to better understand how to be more intentional in strengthening relationships with young people.

Objectives:

  1. Identify characteristics of resiliency and strategies for how it can be built over time.
  2. Gain a deeper understanding of how the 40 Developmental Assets framework can be applied to enhance approaches towards boosting resilience in youth.
  3. Learn how the Developmental Relationships Framework can be applied to strengthen its impact with youth.

About the Speakers:

Tasha Thomas is the Lead Student Assistant Specialist with Caron Treatment Centers . In this role, she provides nicotine cessation prevention and intervention services and s in Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. Prior to her work at Caron, she spent the past 20 years serving at risk youth in the Orlando community, including nine years as a School Counselor. Tasha received her bachelor’s degree in Communications and also holds a Master’s degree in School Guidance and Counseling.
