Tourette syndrome or Tourette’s is a neurological disorder. When someone has Tourette’s they will often involuntary make gestures, movements and sounds. The average age of onset for Tourette’s is from ages 3 to 9. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, around 200,000 Americans have the most severe type of this disorder. It’s estimated that as many as 1 in 100 people have milder forms.
