The Recovery Village Ridgefield offers multiple stages of treatment to set clients up for success in long-term recovery. While some individuals may only undergo a few levels of care, most work through the full continuum, which allows them to gradually gain the confidence and coping skills needed to build a solid foundation in sobriety. Currently, The Recovery Village Ridgefield offers medical detox, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient levels of care.
Medical Detox
Clients with substance use disorders involving physically addictive substances usually begin treatment with medical detox. Located just minutes away from The Recovery Village Ridgefield’s main campus, The Recovery Village Ridgefield’s detox center offers medically supervised detox services in a safe, supportive environment. Once detox is complete, clients can transition to additional levels of care at the main campus.
Residential
The most intensive level of care provided at The Recovery Village Ridgefield’s main campus, clients in residential treatment undergo therapeutic care and live at the facility on a full-time basis. This safe, stable environment allows clients to stay accountable to their recovery goals while gaining insight into addiction and mental health challenges.
Partial Hospitalization
A step down from residential care, partial hospitalization programming provides clients with the opportunity to transition to less intensive care. During this stage of treatment, healing recreational therapies and amenities are made available as clients continue to participate in individual, group and family therapy. While most individuals live in a sober living facility, some may transition to off-site residency.
Intensive Outpatient
Clients in intensive outpatient treatment may live off-site in supportive home environments, or in sober living communities. Additional flexibility offers the opportunity to practice coping skills while continuing to receive support, accountability and coaching from counselors and clinicians.
Outpatient
Outpatient treatment may either be undergone on its own or as the final step in a complete continuum of care. During this level of treatment, all clients live off-site and attend individual and group therapy sessions at The Recovery Village Ridgefield on a part-time basis. Clients begin to return to family and work responsibilities while coordinating with counselors to secure local therapists, physicians and support groups for continued to guidance once formal treatment is over.
Treatment Therapies
Therapy is the cornerstone to high-quality drug and alcohol rehab. Through individual, group and family and recreational therapy, clients can gain insight into the roots of their addiction, address symptoms of co-occurring mental health conditions and learn emotional regulation techniques. These skills help create a strong foundation for lasting recovery.
Individual Therapy
During individual therapy, clients work one-on-one with counselors to unpack harmful thoughts and behaviors, resolve past conflicts and build resiliency. Different therapeutic methods may be used depending on each person’s unique needs.
At The Recovery Village Ridgefield, clients may undergo any of the following individual therapy methods:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Empowers clients to recognize emotions and thought patterns that influence self-defeating behaviors
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy: Helps clients learn relationship-building, communication, mindfulness, problem-solving and emotional regulation skills
- Moral Reconation Therapy: Works to increase moral reasoning to reduce the risk of relapse
Group Therapy
Even when armed with additional insights into the roots of addiction and coping skills to deal with emotional distress, it can still be easy to feel alone in your struggles. Through group therapy, clients can take comfort in hearing the experiences of others and realizing how similar they are to their own. Group therapy also provides clients with the opportunity to practice communication skills and learn more about a variety of recovery topics, including addiction, codependency, trauma and relapse.
At The Recovery Village Ridgefield, clients may participate in the following group therapy methods:
- SMART Recovery
- 12-Step programming
- Experiential groups
- Skills groups
Family Support & Therapy
The support of family and friends can make a world of difference during treatment for drug or alcohol addiction. Mental health professionals at The Recovery Village Ridgefield encourage both client and family member healing through regular family therapy sessions when appropriate. During these therapy sessions, family members can learn more about what their loved one is going through, work through unhealthy family dynamics and create an environment that promotes mutual mental wellness.
Recreational & Holistic Therapies
Recreational and holistic therapies provide people in recovery with the opportunity to cultivate healthy hobbies, build camaraderie with peers and learn stress-reduction skills.
Once clinically cleared by a medical professional, clients may be able to participate in:
- Yoga
- Art Therapy
- Music Therapy
Medication-Assisted Treatment
While traditional therapeutic care is sufficient for some individuals to stay committed to long-term recovery, combining traditional rehab methods with new, evidence-based practices yields better results for others. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) has been growing in popularity in recent years because of its effectiveness in reducing the pleasurable effects of substances, suppressing cravings and easing ongoing withdrawal symptoms. Medical professionals at The Recovery Village Ridgefield provide clients with certain MAT methods on an as-needed basis when deemed clinically appropriate.
Aftercare & Support
It can be difficult to stay accountable to recovery goals without continued care after treatment at The Recovery Village Ridgefield ends. Through aftercare initiatives, counselors at our center help connect clients to medical resources and support in their local communities. Before leaving treatment, team members help locate physicians, clinicians, therapists and support group meetings close to clients’ homes to help them stay healthy and committed to recovery.
