When it comes to long-term recovery, continued support is crucial. Next Step Village provides a safe sober living environment for clients undergoing partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient or outpatient levels of care. Residents in sober living homes can practice new coping and communication skills in real-time, build confidence in sobriety and stay accountable to recovery goals.

Our Sober Living Communities

Social support is the cornerstone of lasting recovery. Next Step Village’s sober living homes foster a sense of community by providing a secure, encouraging environment to maintain recovery. Each Next Step Village sober living community offers access to recreational opportunities and private living spaces shared by peers in recovery.

Sober Homes

Next Village sober living homes offer comfortable, shared living accommodations to residents in recovery. Each room has two full beds along with a mini fridge, microwave and television. Dry storage lockers and shared kitchen spaces are available for residents to cook and eat meals in, along with additional communal spaces for relaxing and socializing.

Next Step Village’s current sober living homes include both gender-specific and co-ed options:

  • Off-site yoga classes
  • Outdoor, in-ground swimming pool

Levels of Care

While living at Next Step Village residences, clients must undergo partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient or outpatient care at nearby treatment facilities. Participating in these levels of care while residing in sober living residences provides a unique opportunity for clients to navigate the challenges of day-to-day life while still receiving continued clinical support.

Partial Hospitalization

A step down from more intensive medical detox and inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization takes place at Orlando Recovery Center. Clients in this level of care must provide their own transportation to the center where they are undergoing programming on a full-time basis.

Intensive Outpatient

Following partial hospitalization treatment, most clients progress to intensive outpatient care. This level of care involves fewer clinical hours than partial hospitalization and takes place at Maitland outpatient facility. Transportation to programming is provided by Next Step Village.

Outpatient

During outpatient, clients attend treatment on a part-time basis and begin to prepare to graduate from professional rehab care. This level of care takes place at Maitland outpatient facility. Transportation to programming is provided by Next Step Village.

Aftercare & Support

It’s important that clients continue to receive clinical support after leaving residency at Next Step Village. To make this transition easier, counselors work closely with clients to find physicians, clinicians and support groups in their local communities. After completing treatment, an alumni coordinator also follows up periodically to ensure that clients are staying committed to their recovery goals.

Treatment Therapies

Next Step Village residents undergo a broad range of therapies during care at Orlando Recovery Center and Maitland outpatient center, including individual, group and family therapy.

Individual Therapy

During individual therapy, clients work one-on-one with mental health professionals to gain insight about the roots of their addictions, increase resiliency, identify triggers and learn new coping skills for sustainable recovery.

Individual therapies offered at outpatient centers may include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Teaches techniques for identifying and correcting thoughts that lead to negative emotions and self-defeating behaviors
  • EMDR Therapy: Provides an avenue for clients to process traumatic events
  • Moral Reconation Therapy: Helps increase moral reasoning to prevent relapse

Group Therapy

During group therapy, clients share with peers in recovery, learn from the experiences of others and improve communication skills. During their time at Next Step Village, residents participate in group therapy such as 12-step programming or SMART Recovery. While many groups are held off-campus, some take place at Next Step Village residences.

Family Support & Therapy

By doing their own personal work and understanding their loved one’s condition, family members of people in recovery can be an enormous source of support. Many programs incorporate family therapy, which allows family members to address traumatic or complicated dynamics and improve communication with their loved one.

Leadership Team

Next Step Village’s leadership team is committed to providing residents with support, encouragement and security as they build healthy habits for long-term recovery. Their extensive experience in addiction care and compassion for those in recovery means residents receive support when they need it most.
