Anthony is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who earned his Master’s degree in Counseling from Lynn University located in Boca Raton, FL and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology minoring in Business and Education from Youngstown State University. For nearly 20 years Anthony has worked in the social services field in a diverse array of positions. Anthony has a passion for helping others and has resided in different locations, which has afforded him the opportunities to gain insight into diversity and a vast array of perspectives.
Anthony began his career working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting and then transitioned to management where he worked as a Director of an adolescent mental health treatment program. After relocating to Florida, he began working with children and adolescents in the public school system as well as adults assisting with career counseling and post-secondary placement. After working as a career counselor, he was promoted to Director where he provided oversight and program development as well as direct services to clients. He also worked as a Director of the Tobacco Prevention Program for the Florida Department of Health where he provided direct services to clients and program oversight as well as development.
After attending graduate school Anthony began working in both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment settings as a therapist in Florida and has been working in the addiction field for 6 years. After relocating to Ohio Anthony has been working at the Recovery Village of Columbus for 2 years as a therapist in both the inpatient and outpatient programs. Anthony has worked with clients struggling with a wide array of issues and specializes in the following areas: addiction, men’s issues, LGBTQIA, eating disorders, self-esteem, anger management, and anxiety disorders.
Since all clients have different needs Anthony utilizes a holistic approach to healing, which consists of utilizing CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, Strength-Based, and Experiential techniques. Anthony feels privileged to work with others to help them through low points in their lives and provide the necessary coping strategies to make the changes necessary to foster long-term sobriety.
