These presentations are geared toward sharing the latest trends, advancements and treatment protocols in the fields of substance abuse, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders and other co-occurring mental health issues.

“Adolescent Chemical Dependency”
Presented by Amy Armstrong, MA, LAC
This continuing education webinar features Amy Armstrong, who will discuss adolescent chemical dependency and cover topical addiction statistics and trends, including:
- The most commonly abused drugs by high school seniors
- Substance abuse facts specific to Colorado adolescents
- Risk factors that may contribute to the development of substance use disorders in adolescents
Armstrong will also discuss principles of adolescent substance use disorder treatment and the treatment approaches that medical professionals can implement into their treatment plans.
About Amy Armstrong
Amy Armstrong is a licensed addiction counselor in the state of Colorado. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado, and completed her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado.
Armstrong is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a national certified counselor (NCC) trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Her professional experience includes working in mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities as well as in private practice. Her professional focus is treating addiction, trauma and co-occurring disorders. In addition to her medical experience, Armstrong has more than 15 years of business management and leadership experience gained from owning and operating two family-owned corporations.
