Matthew Sowada earned his Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Biotechnology from the University of Iowa. After completing his undergraduate degree he worked in laboratories at both the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and contributed to Little Village magazine in Iowa City. He enjoys reading philosophy and getting into the outdoors as much as possible which, happily, is often.
