Presenter: Lyndsy Chavarria RN, LPC
Lyndsy is a registered nurse and licensed professional counselor, she is the owner and integrative psychotherapist for Ripple of Hope, PLLC in Parker, CO. Lyndsy specializes in perinatal mental health, pregnancy and infant grief and loss, and parenting special needs children.
Lyndsy is the community outreach committee co-chair for Postpartum Support International Advisory Board (Colorado Chapter); her role includes planning and attending events, providing outreach, advocacy, education, and resources to both professionals and the community. Lyndsy is also an active member and “ambassador” for 2020 Mom; a California based, national non-profit organization whose mission is to close gaps in maternal mental health care through policy, practice, and systems change.
Lyndsy has worked in the medical field for over 20 years in various capacities, providing compassionate, holistic, and patient centered care. Throughout this time, she has worked with patients throughout the lifespan, all the way from pregnancy, birth and infancy, through the elderly. Some highlights include working with patients diagnosed with eating disorders and other co-occurring disorders at an inpatient and residential eating disorder facility, providing individual and group services for both inpatient and outpatient substance use and mental health disorders, including military personnel, providing hospice care and support to patients and family members, providing home health and teletherapy for individuals and families, facilitating a women’s support group, and lastly, speaker and presenter.
Lyndsy lives in Colorado with her husband and two children. She greatly enjoys music, one of her favorite things to do is attend concerts at Red Rocks. She also enjoys traveling, art, crafting, and advocating for causes that she is passionate about such as maternal and family mental health, special needs, and chronic illness.

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD's) are the #1 complication of pregnancy and childbirth, yet many parents go undiagnosed, untreated, and providers feel ill equipped to manage them. This presentation will provide the information you need to feel confident in identifying those with PMAD's and getting them the proper treatment.
1. Describe perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and identify risk factors.
2. Identify treatment methods for those experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
3. Utilize and provide tools and resources for this population.

Continuing Education credit hours will be awarded as accredited by NBCC. Attendees will need to contact their governing body in order to have credits applied. The exception would be nurses that would go through CE Brokers. Priority seating is reserved for individuals receiving Continuing Education Credit.
