About the Speaker:
Marty believes that effective counseling is influenced by the therapeutic relationship. The ability to connect and feel compassion without being judgmental is a key factor in successful counseling. He has had extensive life experience as a counselor, professional musician, and teacher and uses his clinical skills and his life experience to provide the most productive counseling possible. Marty believes that looking at the “whole” person is an essential strategy to provide clients the best possible help they are seeking.
Marty holds a Ph.D. in Education and Human Resource Studies with an Interdisciplinary focus on human development and Family Studies. He also holds a Masters degree in Education and Human ResourceStudies with a focus on Community Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He is a licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Addiction Counselor III (CAC III), and a National Certified Counselor(NCC).
In the little spare time that he has, Marty enjoys playing music with friends (he's killer bass player), driving on-and off-road, and great Mexican food
