This presentation is intended for members of the fire service, other types of first responders, peer support team members, and members of the community interested in learning more about the process of change. change is rarely a linear process and often can feel like "1 step forward, 2 steps back." For those supporting others through the process of change, it can be a frustrating and confusing process. this webinar is intended to help individuals and those supporting them understand how change occurs, what it takes to get to the planning and action phases of change, and identify best practices for sustaining change. Molly Jones, LSW and IAFF National Peer Support Instructor and Milwaukee, WI fire fighter and peer support team member, Jeff Gauthier, will discuss the transtheoretical model of change, each stage of change, and identify strategies for putting plans for change into action and maintaining changed behavior. This webinar will also highlight specific strategies for first responders in early sobriety from alcohol and other substances who want to set themselves up for success in recovery.
