Emotional intelligence is your ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and relationships. It helps improve communication, management, problem-solving, and relationships within the workplace. It can be learned and improved. People with high EI:

- Make better decisions and solve problems

- Keep cool under pressure

- Resolve conflicts

- Have greater empathy

- Listen, reflect and respond to constructive criticism


1. Learn the ability to cope with daily situations and get along in the world

2. Understand how the emotional brain impacts behaviour

3. Learn about ‘amygdala hijack’ which causes cognitive thinking to stop

4. Learn about four aspects of Emotional Intelligence

5. Practice calm breathing and focused listening

Time: 2PM-3PM EST

No credits will be provided for attending this training. Our Community Education Series is open to the public and anyone interested in learning more about addiction and other mental health topics. Note: These webinars are not accredited by the NBCC and are not eligible for continuing education hours.
